Be The One: The Collegiate DECA Program of Leadership

Aug 1, 2024

As your Collegiate DECA Executive Officer team gears up for the year ahead, our Program of Leadership serves as the “blueprint for success.” As a result of discussions amongst our team and you, our members, we were able to frame what we believe are the top three focus areas of our year together:

1. Leadership Development

Let’s help our members on campus become community-oriented and experienced leaders. Gain access to members of your faculty and administration on campus while strengthening ties within your local communities. In development are devices for our chapter and association leaders to strengthen bonds and engagement among chapters, communities and beyond. Become more engaged with your campus and communities as you build a stronger leadership toolkit over the membership year.

2. Member Engagement

With a tight-knit community of like-minded individuals, we want to make sure all of our members can collaborate and work together no matter the distance. Knowing who is active yearly is also important to form stronger bonds. Multiple virtual connection methods are forthcoming to strengthen our community within our division’s borders. Continuing our journey out of the pandemic-driven world, we must look toward new ways to promote connections within our community outside of current conference offerings.

3. Member Recruitment

This year, division growth is at the top of our list. With over 4,600 active members and 200 chapters, the numbers are impressive. But what would it take to reach those next major milestones? Our team is developing ways to help Collegiate DECA grow both in terms of chapter count and membership numbers. Our division is small but mighty. However, furthering our reach could mean a wider variety of backgrounds and student representation, making your experiences more valuable over the year.

As we work with our members worldwide this year, we want to remind you just how important ALL of you are to completing these goals. Without our members, we couldn’t accomplish any of the above items. So, what can you do? Work with your chapters and associations to get involved this year on campus and in your communities. Expand your collaborative efforts across association lines. By doing so, we can Be the One to expand our division’s global reach!
