You are to assume the role of the director of human resources at Ideal Technologies, a technology consulting firm with 100 employees. The president of the company has notified you of the upcoming restructuring of the company and wants you to suggest methods to prevent issues that may arise when the restructuring is announced.
Ideal Technologies has 100 employees that work in a variety of departments. For the past decade, employees have been working in four different departments with senior staff leading each of the departments. The president has restructured the company which has resulted in the dissolution of the four traditional departments.
Ideal Technologies now has six new departments with six new department leaders. Each of the six new department leaders are strong employees with exceptional skill levels. The president is worried about staff reaction since four of the new department leaders are under the age of 30 years old. All four of the former department leaders will now be led by new leaders.
The president wants you to identify issues that may arise with the restructuring announcement and suggest methods to prevent the identified issues. The president wants you also to recommend how to foster positive working relationships throughout the restructuring process and beyond.
