Collegiate DECA Chapter Leadership Guidebook

Oct 15, 2024

Your 2024-2025 Collegiate Executive Officer Team is excited to introduce the newly updated Chapter Leadership Guide! This all-encompassing guide is your “one-stop shop” for important resources and year-round information to help you Be The One in your chapter this year. Each section will guide your officer team toward organizational success. Learn new ways to lead effectively, encounter techniques to keep your membership in order and discover resources you may not know about.

As your executive officers flipped through the pages for the first time this past summer, we took advantage of our Program of Leadership. We updated a few key areas within the guide to maximize its effectiveness for your chapters:

Financial Guidance

New steps and updates to sections regarding fundraising and donations will help chapter officers effectively boost their accounts. Learning more about what is considered a tax-deductible donation, utilizing university-provided resources and connecting with local business professionals are just some of the items written in this edition.

Chapter Meeting Guidance

Updates and additions to sections about chapter meetings, activities to host and more. Aligning with our core values (and the Leadership Passport Program), chapters can plan for more engaging meetings and events.

Communications

We have added the President’s Council as a recurring call type. We have also provided your social media managers with some new descriptions and additions about the Branding Resource Center, including how to request a Collegiate DECA chapter logo.

Membership Recruitment and Retainment

This edition includes more information about student, professional and alumni membership recruitment and retention. We have also made the key distinction that Collegiate DECA members may come from a variety of majors and how these students can be recruited and retained in a predominantly business-driven organization.

Utilizing the Collegiate DECA Chapter Leadership Guide will help your chapter learn, grow, and communicate more effectively. It will also provide ways to promote Collegiate DECA on your campus, in your local communities and beyond. Never hesitate to contact your Executive Officer Team if you need anything besides what is listed in the guide!
