The future of business is bright thanks to the dedicated students of the Green Oaks DECA chapter. These young entrepreneurs recently participated in a unique "Giant Pitch for Entrepreneurship" class, where they learned the art of crafting compelling business pitches and presenting their innovative ideas to a panel of esteemed judges.
The class, designed to foster entrepreneurial spirit and develop essential business skills, challenged students to identify a problem, develop a viable solution and create a persuasive pitch to convince investors to fund their business idea. Students conducted market research, analyzed competitors and developed comprehensive business plans.
"This class has been an incredible experience," said Zion Washington, an 11th grader at Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy. "It has taught me valuable skills like public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork. I learned how to articulate my vision and present my ideas with confidence."
The culminating event of the class was a "GIANT Tank” pitch competition where student teams presented their business ideas to a panel of local business leaders. Judges evaluated presentations based on creativity, market potential, feasibility and the team's ability to communicate their value proposition effectively.
Irma Rogers, Kenneth Dean at MLK Community Development and Dean Lawn Service, commented, "The level of creativity and professionalism displayed by these students was truly impressive. They demonstrated a deep understanding of business principles and a strong entrepreneurial drive."
Intro to Entrepreneurship class gives students valuable business skills and inspires them to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. This program empowers the next generation of business leaders by fostering innovation and encouraging students to think outside the box.
