Excitement for ENGAGE

Sep 1, 2024

For those who don’t know, ENGAGE is a Collegiate DECA conference that challenges students to develop unique skills and interests that empower them to stand out among the competition. Whether you are a new or returning member, the ENGAGE conference is a must-attend event. Here are some reasons why you should join this year in Minneapolis, Minnesota:

Learn Career Building Skills

At ENGAGE, you will learn from esteemed keynote speakers and industry professionals about key foundational skills crucial for career advancement. This conference offers an excellent platform to enhance your leadership capabilities through interactive sessions and workshops. Previous topics have included mastering the perfect handshake and optimizing your online branding strategy.

Network with Members & Professionals

The conference brings together Collegiate DECA members from across the globe, providing a valuable opportunity to network and exchange insights. In-person interactions foster the creation of meaningful connections with peers who offer diverse perspectives and experiences. Additionally, attendees can participate in edutours, gaining firsthand insight into the operational environment of various companies.

Practice in Competitive Events

If you are new to Collegiate DECA’s competitive events, ENGAGE offers the perfect introduction. You will learn effective strategies to maximize your preparation time and deliver an impressive performance before the judges. This experience will highlight the distinctions between collegiate and high school-level competitions and familiarize you with the high standards expected by the judges. Participants will engage in a mock case study event, providing hands-on experience and a solid foundation in competitive practices.

If you are still on the fence of attending ENGAGE, hear from a Collegiate DECA member’s experience from last year’s conference in Kansas City, Missouri:

“My favorite part of the ENGAGE conference is the networking opportunities with the various universities attending. For example, my chapter and I connected with UNLV DECA, and we were able to form formidable bonds that are still strong to day. Students should attend ENGAGE because the opportunities to network are endless, and the pressure of competition is lessened. Also, the energy of ENGAGE is a lot more toned down than other DECA conferences, which I love.” - Jalen Jones, Eastern Michigan University

We welcome any Collegiate DECA member from any chapter to register for the ENGAGE Conference in Minneapolis, MN, from October 24 to 26. Registration is open until October 1, 2024.
