Feed My Starving Children is a Christian non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food to people in developing nations. Their goal is to end child hunger in these nations and worldwide. This year, thirteen Mayville State Collegiate DECA members volunteered at the Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack located at the Armory in Mayville, North Dakota.
They hosted two days' worth of volunteer packs in the small town of Mayville and had a tremendous turnout of volunteers, including DECA members. In the 90-minute session that MSU DECA volunteered in, 17,884 meals were packed, enough to feed 48 children for an entire year. At MSU DECA's station, 2,000 of those meals were packed.
How awesome is it that from a small town in North Dakota, thirteen DECA members could help give starving children hope and meals for an entire year? MSU DECA is so thankful for the opportunity to volunteer at this annual event and will continue to do so as long as it comes to Mayville.
