Recently, our chapter at Mayville State went to the Fall Leadership Conference. While at the conference, we heard speakers talk about different aspects of leadership and what leadership skills can do for you. We had round tables where we spoke to different employees and employers from companies in North Dakota. We could ask questions about job opportunities and more about the field they worked in. This ranged from the National Guard to Gate City Bank.
We also had pizza around the pool, where people could talk and socialize with other DECA chapters. We also had Holly Hoffman from season 21 of Survivor talk to us about leadership and what she learned from taking the opportunity to go onto the show. We also had the chance to learn about some different categories you can present for the national DECA conference. We also learned about DECA passports. I learned a lot from this conference and am glad I went.
I'm glad I could attend because I spoke to different people from different places. I got closer to DECA members in my chapter and made connections from the Fall Leadership Conference. I recommend going if you have the option because this opens different doors.
